Really Being Thankful and Pleasing to God

As the holiday of Thanksgiving approaches here in the U.S., we should be contemplating everything with thankfulness. What are we grateful for in our lives? Are we grateful for our very life itself?

“Well pleased” is one of the definitions of the word, thankful. We may be thankful for accepting God into our hearts (if we have done so). If not, feel free to contact me through my website here.

Most Christians say they wonder how others can live without believing in God and accepting Him. However, do we give any thoughts to what God thinks about us? Is He well pleased with us and our actions in serving Him and our inactions by not giving in to the temptations to sin?

Is what you are doing with your life reflecting the things that God is well pleased about? Let’s discuss a few things that God is well pleased with that we may or may not be doing. If we are truly thankful, we should be making sure that we are pleasing God.

“… Let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His name.” (Hebrews 13:15)

And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” (Hebrews 13:16)

Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.” (Hebrews 13:17)

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)

Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. Show love to the Lord your God by walking in his ways and holding tightly to him.” (Deuteronomy 11:22)

Love the Lord your God with all you heart, all your mind, all your soul, and all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

Until we virtually meet again, may God call you to Himself!

Happy Thanksgiving!
